Traffic Generation Tips for Internet Marketers

By now you know that, in order to make money online, you need to have a good website. Then next logical thought is you’ll need to people to actually find your site. The people who visit your website are called, collectively, “traffic”. It’s a numbers game, more traffic equals more sales – generally speaking. More or less, making as much as possible is the big goal for online marketers, of course. Ok, let’s move onto how you can make those traffic stats look impressive.

It’s a good idea to submit your site to the secondary search engines, but avoid doing that with the major search engines using their submission form. Manually submitting with Google’s submit form is not needed at all, and you can do it faster using social media techniques. Of course submitting to secondary engines takes a little time. You can definitely receive traffic from them and rank easier, the major engines will also view that as your site being more popular. You can get backlinks in very many ways, and it’s true that some will carry more weight than others. But it’s a game, of sorts, and you want to have a variety of backlinks so you’ll appear very natural and normal to Google.

So, ok… you can produce articles in your market and submit to directories and other places. You can also include links to your site, usually a couple, in the author resource, or bio, box at the end of your articles. You want to submit your articles to as many directories as possible. Take some precautions so you don’t submit the same article in too many places. Some directories will issue bans on people who do that. You can avoid this problem by using good content spinners and creating at least a few unique articles every week. It’s all about presence, and if you’re always putting good info out on the net, people will begin to notice and good things will start to happen.

Take advantage of Meta tags in your site’s HTML code. If you have a blog, you will also want to learn how to use them in blog posts. Always provide meta tag title and description information for each page because it will help with SEO.

Also, if there are discrepancies between your Meta tag information and your page content, it will only cause confusion, improper ranking, and you’ll also waste a lot of time. It doesn’t take much time to properly use meta tags, and they’ll only provide some additional value for your site.

There are literally thousands of techniques to drive traffic to anywhere you want. What you’ll always want to do is be able to maintain that traffic source. With just an hour a day you can accomplish enough to bring in hundreds of visitors. Each visitor represents a possibility for a sale, or a lifetime customer. If you keep at it, you’ll be able to create a full-time income for life.
